Improvement Programme
In July 2000 the Government established the decent home target to ensure that all social housing meets standards of decency by 2010. A decent home is one which is wind and weather tight, warm and has modern facilities.
At Meres and Mosses we intend to exceed the Decent Homes Standard. Within the first 5 years of our programme of repairs and improvements, worth around £30 million, we will bring homes up to the new Meres and Mosses Standard. Click on the Plan of Investment below for more details.
In addition Meres and Mosses are involving tenants and offering more choice. A group of tenants called the Quality and Design Forum are involved in making decisions about the type and quality of kitchen and bathroom fittings we provide.
Tenants have their say on the layout and design of their improvements and are given the option to have higher specification fittings if they wish to pay the extra cost.
