Tenants and residents urged to have their say

Residents of Meres and Mosses Housing Association are being urged to make their voices heard at the annual general meeting of their tenants group.

The Towns and Rural Communities Association (TARCA) is led by MMHA tenants and meets regularly to discuss the services provided by the social landlord and how they can be developed or improved.

The TARCA annual general meeting is to be held at 7pm on Monday, May 10, at Whitchurch Civic Centre. The group holds monthly meetings on a rotational basis in Market Drayton, Whitchurch, Wem and Ellesmere.

TARCA also collects the views of other tenants by holding roadshows and having stalls at events.

Chairman of TARCA, John Higginson, explained: “Our group has a key role in giving a voice to tenants and providing a chance to air our views to our landlord. We also have a crucial say in how funding is allocated to deserving community projects.

“We can make a real difference and I would urge as many tenants as possible to use this opportunity to play a part in the continual improvements to our communities.

“The more people participate, the stronger our voice is and they can represent the rural areas, towns and sheltered housing complexes that fall within our area. Everyone is welcome to come to the AGM to see for themselves the work we do and decide if they would like to take part.”

Transport and child care costs can be considered to support tenants in taking part in TARCA meetings and activities.
